From an old PUB file to a RemPress project
A .pub file is a Microsoft Publisher document. This free browser tool recovers supported content and packages it as a native .rempress project. It is useful when you want to bring existing designs into your Windows publishing workflow.
- Choose your Publisher file. Processing takes place on this device.
- Review the recovered page count, approximate preview and compatibility notes.
- Download the RemPress project and open it in RemPress Studio on Windows. View, print and export PDF in Free Viewer; activate the Editor to edit and save changes.

Before you convert
Do I need RemPress to download the project?
No. Conversion and the project download are free. Use RemPress Studio Free Viewer on Windows to open, view, print and export PDF from the downloaded .rempress file. The paid Editor unlocks editing and editable project saving.
Will everything remain editable?
Supported text and objects can remain editable. Some artwork is recovered as an image, and unsupported content may use a placeholder. The compatibility notes explain the fallbacks used for your document.
Will it look exactly like Publisher?
Not always. Fonts, text wrapping, complex effects and other Publisher-specific features may differ. Check every page and use print preview before producing the final print.
Is my Publisher file uploaded?
The converter reads and processes the file locally in a browser worker. It generates the download on your device and does not send the document to a conversion server.
Complex Publisher-specific effects and unavailable fonts may require checking. Unsupported objects are identified in the compatibility notes and may use image fallbacks or visible placeholders. Keep your original .pub file.
