First read the exact warning and confirm you started at the official Download page. An unfamiliar-app warning is different from a malware detection. Verify the expected publisher; stop if the file is flagged as malicious, its signature is invalid or the publisher does not match.

Where should I download RemPress?

Start at https://www.rempressstudio.com/download and use its current Download RemPress Studio button. That button may open an approved file host. Reach it from the official website each time rather than trusting a separately shared file-host link. Avoid unofficial mirrors and adverts offering replacement installers.

Why does Windows say the app is unrecognised?

SmartScreen considers download and publisher reputation. A newer release can trigger an unfamiliar-app warning even when signed. That warning alone does not prove malware or safety. Confirm the source and publisher before deciding whether to continue.

Which publisher should I expect?

The current official Download page identifies Swootsy Ltd as the installer signer. Compare that with the publisher shown by Windows and the file's digital-signature information. If the publisher differs, the signature is invalid or no signature exists where a signed installer is expected, stop and contact support with a screenshot.

Can I use More info or Run anyway?

Only consider Windows' offered continuation option after verifying the current official download, a valid expected publisher signature, and that this is an unfamiliar-app warning rather than a malware or harmful-file alert. If any check is unclear, cancel and ask support. Do not turn off protection, add antivirus exclusions or bypass an administrator's block.

My browser says the file is not commonly downloaded

Read the full message. A browser can warn about an unknown download or a file it considers harmful; these are different cases. Revisit the official Download page and verify the file. If the message says malware, harmful, virus or unsafe, stop and report the exact message instead of choosing Keep anyway.

Windows Security or my antivirus reports a threat

Do not run the installer or restore a quarantined file. Keep protection enabled. Contact support with the threat name, screenshot, RemPress version and the page you downloaded from. The AI cannot inspect your file or declare the alert a false positive.

Smart App Control or my organisation blocks installation

A policy block may provide no continuation option. Ask your IT administrator if this is a managed PC. For a personal device, send the exact message to RemPress Support. Do not disable Smart App Control, edit security policies or use another installer copy to evade the block.

Windows asks whether the app can make changes

Check the app and publisher before approving an installer permission prompt. Cancel if you did not start the installation or the details are unexpected. Use the normal installer workflow; running as administrator is not a general fix for every problem.

RemPress installs but will not open

Save other work, restart Windows once and launch RemPress from the Start menu. Confirm your PC meets the current Download page requirements. If it still fails, record the error and version. Do not download replacement DLLs or unofficial repair utilities.

What should I send support?

Use https://www.rempressstudio.com/contact or email support@rempressstudio.com. Include the warning, screenshot, Windows version, RemPress version and whether it happened during download, installation or launch. Do not send passwords, full licence keys or payment-card details.
