Prepare an approved list of services or products and their prices. Group related items, use a consistent price column and check every entry against the source. Save an editable RemPress project for updates and export a reviewed PDF for sharing or printing.
Agree the information before laying it out
A useful price list answers what is offered, what it costs and how to book or buy. Gather the current product or service names, the unit being priced and any wording needed to explain the offer. Resolve uncertain prices before they enter the final layout.
Distinguish a fixed price from a starting price, hourly rate, package or quotation-only service. Ask the business owner to approve how taxes, additional charges and conditions are described. The layout should make those distinctions clear without inventing the terms of the offer.
Group items in a way customers understand
Put related services together and use short, descriptive headings. For example, a cleaning business could separate regular visits, one-off work and optional extras. The goal is for a customer to find an appropriate service without reading every line.
Choose a consistent order within each group. Avoid mixing a lengthy package description with several unexplained abbreviations. If the list has many items, use another page or a short summary rather than compressing everything into tiny text.
Build a reusable page layout
- Set the page Choose the paper size and orientation for the intended display or handout. Leave safe margins around the page.
- Place headings and rows Use text boxes or suitable table layouts for grouped entries. Keep repeated text styles and spacing consistent.
- Align the prices Create a clear relationship between each description and its price. Check long entries so that wrapping does not make the rows confusing.
- Add the next action Include a short booking or contact instruction. Give it enough space to be found after the customer has chosen a service.
Make changes easy to spot
Use a limited set of type styles and avoid relying on colour alone to explain different packages. Check the list in a plain-paper proof, especially if it may be photocopied or printed in black and white. Small grey text can disappear even when it looks neat on screen.
If the list has an effective date or version, place it where a reader can find it. A date is helpful only when it is maintained, so make checking it part of every revision. Keep temporary promotional prices separate from the normal master if they have different expiry dates.
Run a line-by-line review
For a long list, check one category at a time and mark it complete. Reading only the most prominent headings will not catch a transposed digit or a price attached to the wrong row.
- Compare each price, unit and service name with the approved source.
- Check that a wrapped description still clearly matches its price.
- Read contact details and any conditions at the finished print size.
- Open the exported PDF and confirm all pages are present.
- Have a second person approve the final version before distribution.
Keep editable and distribution copies
The Editor lets you create, edit and save the .rempress master. Give each approved PDF a date in its filename, and archive earlier outputs away from the current print copy. Free Viewer can open supported projects for viewing, printing and PDF export.
After changing one price, review the row spacing and export a fresh PDF. Update any downloadable copy on your website as part of the same release so that customers do not receive conflicting versions.
